The average rent increase in the foundation’s apartments is 1,97 % from 1.1.2017 onwards and it is equal to 0,16 €/sqm/mm. This means that in a 30 sqm apartment the monthly rent increase is 4,80 euros.
The increase is due to the slight rise in consumption- and maintenance costs, planned renovations and preparing for the increasing loan repayments. At DAS electricity, water, laundry turns, common sauna turns and internet connection costs are included in the rent. This should be taken into consideration when comparing the levels of rent between DAS and other apartment providers.
Keeping the rent increase at a moderate level has been enabled by the savings in energy consumption done in co-operation between DAS and its tenants, good cost-efficiency and the low interest rates which has meant the stability in capital expenditure.
DAS is a non-profit actor and the incomes from rent payments are used only to cover the expenses of maintaining the foundation’s basic functions and the assets are never handed out of the foundation.
