" The renovation of DAS Aapo and Simeon is progressing according to plan. Comfortable homes are being built there. They will be ready for use on September 1, 2024. The renovation of DAS III (Ratakatu 10 in asemarinne) is in the final planning stage. The aim is to start its renovation on on September 1, 2024. The start of the project is conditional on the availability of funding. This matter should be resolved by the summer.
I have gotten well into the operation of DAS. It has to be said that there are many things on the table. That makes the work interesting. Our basic mission of providing affordable housing for students is important. This goal is even more important in these times when student subsidies have decreased and all costs have increased. Fortunately, we can support students by offering affordable housing. We can all play our part in keeping housing costs down by looking after our facilities. Saving natural resources - using water and energy in moderation - is also an essential part of responsible living, which benefits all tenants.
We must not just look to the past, but to the future. We must continue to develop our activities in an attempt to take into account the needs and wishes of future tenants. Cooperation with existing tenants, educational institutions and student organisations will play an important role in this. Together, we can see better into the future. I challenge all of you to participate in tenant cooperation and thereby the development of our operations.
