Greetings from our tenant committee!
The Tenant Committee has had a very interesting autumn. Normally, we would have organized nice events like a Ikea trip and other fun stuff, not to mention monthly neighbor evenings. But due to covid-19, we have not been able to organize any events with good conscience. That’s why this fall instead of having any events we ended up developing the DAS’s many bookable spaces as well as some nice borrowable goods our residents might need.
We are currently going through our different spaces and trying to come up with nice improvements to make them more comfortable and practical. Tenants can book these spaces for their own use from the tenants page. Some of the facilities are even completely free of charge, such as the club room in Nili, which is a great place to hold i.e. cooking or game night for your group of friends.
The Tenant Committee is a direct line in the direction of the DAS and through it the tenants' wishes and suggestions are received more effectively. TheTenant Committee receives a budget from the DAS for organizing various activities and procuring goods. Tenants also have three representatives on the DAS board, giving tenants the opportunity to influence decision-making and share their views.
If you are interested in influencing your own housing and the comfort of the tenants, then 12.10. is the meeting of tenants. At the tenants meeting, the members of the next year's tenant committee, the chairman and tenants' representatives will be elected to the DAS board and the SOANK, ie the Finnish Student Tenants' Advisory Board. We hope that everyone who has anything they want to say to the DAS or the Tenants Committee will come to the meeting. Invitations will soon arrive in both electronic and regular mailboxes.
