About DAS

When DAS was young, student housing meant little more than a bed and a desk. Fortunately, times have changed. A DAS apartment is a real home: a place to enjoy your morning coffee, relax on the sofa in front of the TV, and read bedtime stories to your children.

DAS is not here to make a profit. Our mission is to support students in Rovaniemi by providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing that suits different life situations. We want to bring the warmth of a true home to people in the springtime of their lives, even here in the Arctic climate.

We manage, rent out, and develop housing on a non-profit, cost-recovery basis. DAS owns and operates 30 apartment buildings in three key student areas in Rovaniemi. We provide accommodation for 1,660 residents. Our housing portfolio consists of 41% studio apartments, 21.2% family apartments with one bedroom and a kitchen, and 37.2% shared apartments for two or three residents.

We highly value open and active communication with our residents. By listening to students, we stay connected with their everyday lives and can continuously improve our services. At the same time, they help us feel young as well.

The Domus Arctica Foundation (DAS) was established in 1969. Its founding members are the City of Rovaniemi, Rovaniemen Naiskotiteollisuuskoulun kannatusyhdistys ry (the Support Association of the Rovaniemi Women's Home Economics School), and Työkeskus Rovalan kannatusyhdistys ry (the Support Association of Rovalan Työkeskus).
